Cartel del 8 born July 6th, 1987 at La Loma, Medellin, Colombia out of Monarca IV x Fantasia III. Cartel del 8 was brought to the Republic of Venezuela by Fabio Ochoa and competed in various shows in this country. Here he won many Grand Champion titles. He was then bought by a trader in Curacao named Luis J Metsch and brought to this Island in January of 1992. I purchased Cartel del 8 from Luis Metsch in 1995. He has been been participating in shows on Aruba and Curacao and won all the Grand Championships.

His owner then wanted to take Cartel del 8 to the first World Championships held in the Dominican Rebublic in 1993 but he could not be transported due to a loading accident in Curacao. He did not compete in shows during the year’s 1993 thru 1995. Mr. Metsch did compete however with a daughter of Cartel named Mona Lisa II, a Trote y Galope, and she won the World Championship title Campeona Joven. Another daughter of his that I own, Consentida de la Perla, has won several Grand Championships on Curacao and Reserve Grand Champion at Arubu. His son Conde de Talisman, who I also own, has won all the shows that he competed in for the last three (3) years on Curacao and Aruba as Mehor Capon Trote y Galope and should get the title Fuera de Concurso (out of Contest because he will have won 10 Championships) next year.

However since Cartel’s comeback in 1996 he has won all the titles again including the honorary title of F.de.C for the first time in Aruba in 1997. In November 1999, we were complemented by Dr. Ramon Lopez Rivas, who is not only the director of Revista Al Paso but also the President of the Judge’s Association of the Republic of Venezuela, who stated that he had not seen Cartel del 8 in a long time and that he still stands among his peers as one of the finest Trocha y Galope Pasos. Again Cartel received the F.de.C title in December 1999 on our Island of Curacao. Thank you for letting me share my wonderful Trocha y Galope Paso Cartel del 8.

***Notes: Some names are the same for Trocha\Trote\Galope Pasos as they are for Paso Finos but they are different horses. I wanted to point out a few in this Pedigree that are truly Paso Finos.

Lucitano was an imported non gaiting Lusitanian Bull Fighting Horse. You will find him in other famous Paso Fino pedigrees, see Profeta de Besilu’s pedigree from Profetiza for one example. The Paso Fino is very intermixed with Trocha\Trote\Galope bloodlines and visa versa. Gaviota (Mirasol x La Colorado) you might also recognize as a full sister to Cascanueces the mother of Resorte IV.

You might also notice Darling in this Pedigree who is also the grandsire of Candelazo. Other famous Paso Finos here are Oro Negro, Gaucho, Resorte I, Cometa, Monarca I, Katiuska, Pandereta and Desvelo! It is not certain that the La Diana listed here, as the dam of Danesa, is the same as the dam of Bochica or not but it might just be possible.
